I tried searching two different names, my married name Amy Milstead, and my name with my maiden name in the middle, Amy Openshaw Milstead. My name did not turn up many results, and honestly, that was just fine with me. I did have my photo from the elementary school website show up in the images, of course it was from the year I had just given birth, so it's my least favorite! My full name, Amy Openshaw Milstead, showed my teaching certificates and my old address, which was a bit unnerving.
I do share a name with someone who owns a towing company. I don't belong to Linkedin, but another Amy Milstead does! The facebook link for my name is not even for me, which again, I am proud of my privacy work on that! I have hidden myself successfully from the google search except for my old address, which makes me think my new address is out there somewhere too.
I have been on Twitter before, but have not been following that for a long time. I do love facebook and instagram, and I have had a personal blog before. I also kept a classroom blog when I taught 4th grade. I feel like I have had a bigger web presence than this google search showed, but I have also protected my privacy, and I'm glad to see that it's working too.
